A way to get involved is to join in Sacred Servicegroups_200x154
There are many ways to get involved at Unity of San Leandro by taking classes, by attending any of our services, or by sharing your talents with our Love in Action Sacred Service ministry.  We look at our Sacred Service  ministry as a way to take care of our spiritual center and our spiritual community. You may pick up a Love In Action brochure on the welcome table near the front entrance for more information on team descriptions, duties, and signing up.

There are Welcome Ambassadors, Greeters, Ushers, Hospitality Angels, Administrative Angels, Youth Education Providers, the Prayer Ministry, and others. Our Love in Action Sacred Service Ministry’s purpose is to:
  • Be an inspiring place to practice spiritual principles, to put love first.
  • Provide a space a safe empowering environment for our spiritual community to identify, develop, and share their spiritual gifts and effective service.
  • Explore the power of commitment–to personal spiritual growth, the growth of our spiritual community, and the spiritual awakening of our universal family.
  • Experience the joy of giving and receiving, an abundance of love and blessings, and the support of developing prayer partnerships.
  • Foster deep, profound friendships and experience the thrill of working together as team members in service to our spiritual community and to our world.
  • Provide effective, loving, and joyous support for all services, special events, and activities.
  • Have fun!
Our Unity Chaplain Team is a service opportunity for those congregants who are truly looking to take the next step in their spiritual growth.

What is the time commitment?

The Unity Chaplain Team is a service opportunity for those congregants who are truly looking to take the next step in the development of their spiritual maturity and level of commitment in their spiritual growth. As such, Unity Chaplains are required to make a one year commitment to their responsibilities.

These responsibilities include (but are not limited to)
Serving at 1 service monthly
(available for one-on-one prayer following services)
2 hours of wellness calling per month (at church office or home)
1 hour Chaplain meeting per month
Yearly off-site and on-site training

What if I’ve never done anything like this before?
No prior experience in prayer or praying with others is required to serve as a Unity Chaplain.
You must be an active member or be willing to become a member at the next available membership class.
There are a number of classes available here at Unity of San Leandro which will prepare you for this next step in your journey.
You must be willing to deepen your spiritual path through prayer and
service and a commitment to the Program.
